This is a USB telephone Caller ID adapter (DCID-300) for displaying telephone numbers of incoming calls on computer screen. It is actually a USB modem device that people used for dial-up Internet connections before DSL/Cable modem high-speed Internet is available. Today, it is still being used by people as a computerized caller ID box that can run with your desktop and laptop computers.
DCID-300 Caller ID Adapter is compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista as well as Windows 7 and Windows 10 (both 32- and 64-bit version). It also supports Linux.
Connect this device to a USB port on your PC and a telephone line; when there is an incoming call, the caller's telephone number(*) and name will be instantly displayed on your computer's screen by a small pop-up window. Thus you can decide either to pick up or ignore the call based on who is calling. Furthermore, the device can also be set up to block telemarketing calls automatically.
(*) This function requires the Caller ID service from your telephone company.
