The Dualcomm ETAP-2003 is a compact, rugged, and highly reliable Network TAP designed for monitoring and capturing traffic on 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet links. Housed in a durable metal enclosure, it is among the smallest Gigabit Ethernet Network TAPs available, making it ideal for both portable and permanent deployment.

The ETAP-2003 can be powered directly from a computer's USB port and incorporates a built-in inrush current limiting circuit to protect the host computer from excessive startup current. This design minimizes the risk of USB port interruptions or hardware damage caused by sudden current surges.

The device is fully compatible with Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing PoE power to pass transparently between the two in-line network ports without interruption. This capability makes the ETAP-2003 particularly well suited for monitoring traffic on PoE-enabled devices such as IP cameras, wireless access points, VoIP phones, and IoT equipment.

For applications requiring bidirectional communication through the monitor port, the ETAP-2003R variant is available. The ETAP-2003R operates identically to the ETAP-2003 except that ingress traffic on the monitor port is not blocked.
